What next for global policy to finance the just transition?

COP28 placed the just transition at the heart of action to accelerate and deepen climate action. This will involve reforming policy frameworks to provide effective rules and incentives to transform the financial system.

As part of London Climate Action Week, the Just Transition Finance Lab at LSE are hosting an expert panel session to look at what is next for global policies to finance the just transition. Ahead of COP29, the session will review the emerging state of just transition policies at the country level and explore what needs to happen next, particularly in terms of international cooperation and national implementation.

Jodi-Ann Wang, Global Analyst at the Lab will also present the findings of a forthcoming report on the state of national just transition policies, highlighting the implications for mobilising finance, particularly in the Global South.
