Date: 25 June 2024, 6:30 pm – 8:15 pm
Venue: Hong Kong Theatre, LSE, Clement House, 99 Aldwych, London, WC2B 4BG
We will discuss the book The Edge by Jonathan Maxwell, CEO of Sustainable Development Capital LLP. In this timely book Maxwell makes an appeal for optimism and pragmatism in resolving some of the urgent public and economic policy problems arising from the polycrisis of the cost of living, war, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
This event will discuss with the author in a “fireside chat” the main issues covered in his book, especially recent global events and the agency we have in understanding and delivering big solutions to these issues, on time, no matter their scale.
The discussion will focus on what can be done now with technologies that exist today.
We will be joined by a panel of expert discussants who will share their reflections and insights into the problems posed by Maxwell. The panel will also discuss how we can ensure diverse global perspectives are brought into this critical conversation.
