Updating mindsets: contemporary solutions from and for the real Amazon
Coal Drops Yard, 79-81 Coal Drops Yard, King's Cross, London N1C 4DQ
About this Event
Just as the world continues to evolve, we must adopt a contemporary perspective on the Amazon. New challenges are emerging in climate geopolitics, democracy, and the frontiers of technology. More than ever, nature will be our ally in shaping ways of life and, especially, in generating socioeconomic prosperity for the approximately 30 million citizens living in the Brazilian Amazon. The Amazon matters to Brazil and to the world. The time has come to join forces to reconcile conservation with income and job generation in this region of immense climatic, biological, and cultural importance.
This is an invitation-only event. Please contact contato@concertacao.com.br for more information.
Arapyaú Institute and Amazon Concertation
The Instituto Arapyaú is a Brazilian philanthropic institution that promotes development based on the appreciation of natural, social and economic dimensions.
We articulate and mobilize civil society, philanthropy, academia, the public and private sector to foster transformative networks capable of creating systemic and scalable solutions that respond to challenges such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity. We believe in collaboration and diversity as the only way to tackle these issues.
Amazon Concertation is a broad, diverse and plural network of people, institutions and companies formed to seek solutions for the conservation and sustainable development of this territory and the improvement of the quality of life of those who live there. We brought together more than 900 committed people and created a democratic space for the dozens of initiatives in defense of the Amazon to meet, dialogue, increase the impact of their actions and generate new proposals and projects in favor of the forest and the populations that live in the region.
