Online event

About this Event

Be part of this landmark event from wherever you are by joining the official launch of the UK Climate Resilience Roadmap. Built environment professionals, policymakers, and climate leaders across the country, and around the world, are invited to be part of this pivotal milestone.

As well as launching the main report and revealing recommendations for both government and industry, the event will also speak to the London Climate Action Week themes and ethos, highlighting how this industry-leading work in the UK will be used internationally.

It will also preview two new mapping tools – which will be free-to-use – that demonstrate vulnerability to climate hazards in five UK areas. As well as providing new insights for industry professionals, the roadmap also aims to create public awareness of a critical issue.

Climate resilience is no longer optional – it’s imperative. Safeguarding people and the natural environment must be our top priority, and the built environment sector is at the forefront of this mission. From designing climate-resilient homes, offices, schools, and healthcare facilities to retrofitting existing assets, our industry must lead the charge in creating safe, adaptable communities that can withstand the uncertainties of our changing climate.

The UKGBC’s UK Climate Resilience Roadmap sets out a bold and practical framework for how the sector can respond to the key climate hazards, plan and build long-term resilience, while ensuring a just and climate-safe future for all. Developed in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across industry, the roadmap provides a shared vision, clear actions, and policy recommendations to drive systemic change.

During the session, we’ll explore the roadmap’s key findings, strategic priorities and implications for the industry. Attendees will gain insight into the pressing adaptation challenges facing the UK and hear from experts on how we can collectively mobilise to embed resilience at every scale – from individual buildings to national policy.

Hear from leading voices in climate science, urban planning, policy, and design and watch a panel discussions exploring the practical implications for developers, local authorities, and infrastructure providers.
