UK Business Group Alliance for Net Zero Business Leaders’ Summit
The Design Museum, 224-238 Kensington High Street, London W8 6AGAbout this Event
In early 2025, the UK Climate Change Committee will advise the UK Government on its 7th Carbon Budget, the legal limit for UK net emissions of greenhouse gases over the years 2038 to 2042. In addition, the UK’s 2035 NDC is due by COP30 in autumn 2025. These benchmarks offer a renewed opportunity to show UK climate leadership, both domestically & internationally. While the upcoming general election dominates the political landscape, it is paramount to keep medium- and long-term climate targets at the forefront of public debate.
The UK Business Group Alliance for Net Zero (BGA) is a formal network of leading business groups convened by the UK Corporate Leaders Group (CLG UK) at the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL). It is focused on increasing political & business ambition with the aim of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in the UK.
The BGA is organising a Business Leaders’ Summit in partnership with Amazon on 26 June 2024 at the Design Museum in London.
This summit will be a cross-sector working forum featuring a series of parallel workshops involving participants in discussions around a number of policy topics where the UK government needs to increase its net-zero ambition & implementation efforts, including but not limited to:
- The NCQG & the role of business & innovative finance models
- Heavy industry & supply chain decarbonisation
- The built environment: retrofitting, energy efficiency, new buildings
- & more
