About this Event
As part of London Climate Action Week, CTrees is bringing together leaders in science, policy, and finance to discuss the future of tropical forests and the role of results-based programs in protecting these vital ecosystems as a solution to climate change.
The event will preview Brazil’s upcoming agenda for COP30 and highlight innovative initiatives, including jurisdictional REDD+ and the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, designed to deliver large-scale finance to reduce deforestation in the Amazon Basin, Central Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Featuring government officials, scientists, and investors, the event includes two panel discussions that will explore the combination of public policy, advanced technology, and climate finance needed to protect tropical forests. Speakers for both panels will be announced soon.
Advanced registration for this event is required and subject to approval.

CTrees
CTrees is a U.S.-based science and technology nonprofit that has developed the first global system to monitor, report, and verify (MRV) carbon stocks and land-use activities for every ecosystem on land.
CTrees was created by scientists to bridge the gap between science and technology innovation and the data needs of policy and markets. Today, our trusted and independent data is used by leading governments and organizations to measure the impact of programs and projects worldwide.
Founded in 2022, CTrees is led by Sassan Saatchi, senior research scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory/Caltech and adjunct professor at UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. Our team of leading scientists and engineers have more than 20 years of experience in developing global carbon and biodiversity monitoring systems that have informed global climate change policies.
