Thriving at Nature’s Pace

42 De Vere Gardens, London, W8 5AH

About this Event

Thriving at Nature’s Pace is designed to give young adults the confidence to be pioneers of a new Thrive economy. The course is held over three evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, 24th, Wednesday, 25th, and Thursday, 26th of June. Each evening will have a maximum of 6 participants.

This event is a workshop over a home-cooked dinner (soup, salad, and bread) where we explore and share insights on the theme, ‘how to make climate change your personal opportunity to leapfrog over received wisdom to thrive’. A participation fee will apply.

The evenings will cover the following:
24th: Sustainability is spiritual.
25th: Discover your economic presence.
26th: You have to start somewhere.

Thrive Economics acknowledges that the current economy is at risk of collapsing. For instance, if excessive rain prevents you from getting to work, you won’t receive your paycheck, whilst your expenses will continue to rise. A Thrive Economy understands that even in such situations, resources are still available. The key is to shift your mindset from focusing on what you want to do to considering what you can do. This resets economics to Nature’s pace.

The group is kept intentionally small. The activities require active participation. As the jazz hero Thelonious Monk once put it, “You’ve got it! If you don’t want to play, tell a joke or dance, but in any case, you got it!” So, book your place now.

Rethinking Choices

Thrive Academy is founded by Dr David Ko and Richard Busellato. They are investment managers with successful careers making money for Big Money. Their book, The Unsustainable Truth, explains the truth that nobody wants to hear—sustainability is impossible. This turns everything into a dilemma. We need money and investments, but they make the world worse.

Thrive Academy is the result of their work exploring different economic models to resolve this. It comes from experimenting in partnership with people from grassroots communities to big modern businesses.

Their upcoming book, Thrive and Imagine: A Roadmap for Oil, Gas, and Coal (to be published by World Scientific Press as part of their Environmental, Energy, and Climate Economics series) provides the framework and foundation to Thrive Economics.
