THE NAT – Investing in Nature: From Fringe to Fundamental
To be provided upon registration.
About this Event
With over half of global GDP moderately to highly dependent on Nature – and a fivefold increase in annual biodiversity finance needed to meet the GBF’s 2030 target of $1.15 trillion – scalable solutions are urgently needed to boost nature-positive investment.
While the nature finance gap is widely acknowledged, investment in Nature remains at the fringes of global financial systems and is not yet adequately integrated into mainstream strategies.
This roundtable will explore the barriers currently limiting investment and discuss practical solutions to collectively establish Nature as a fundamental, investable asset.
Discussion topics include:
- Closing the gap – private sector’s power to turn the biodiversity crisis into economic and planetary gains
- Rethinking fiduciary duty – changing perceptions to unlock
- Nature investment
- Rethinking enabling conditions – what changes in the financial system and architecture are required for Nature-positive transactions
- Rethinking foundational infrastructure – what system changes are required to place Nature as fundamental in investment portfolios and scale impact

THE NAT
THE NAT is a non-partisan movement with a mission to amplify awareness and accelerate action for nature. We do this by reconnecting people with nature’s awe-inspiring power, convening diverse voices, and scaling nature-positive change.
Our annual Nat Gala is a first-of-its-kind event that combines the creative forces of art, fashion, film, food, and music to spotlight nature on the global stage, capturing imaginations and inspiring action.
Beyond the gala, our year-round Solutions Series drives nature-positive progress across key sectors in support of the Global Biodiversity Plan.
We do this because we believe nature needs our respect. Nature needs our protection. Nature needs our investment. Nature needs us to rally together and champion change.
Nature needs THE NAT.
