18:00 Doors open and Networking

18:30 1st. Speaker Nicole Afonso Alves Calistri – Educator, Designer and Producer.
Becoming ourselves in the climate crisis. How do we stay whole in an increasingly fractured world? This talk reflects on moving through everyday life with integrity amidst collapse, contradiction, and change. It invites us to make space for paradox, notice separation without being defined by it, and explore how we might live, act, and relate in ways that honour complexity within ourselves, with others, and across species.

18:45 Q&A with Nicole Afonso Alves Calistri

19:00 2nd. Speaker Maria Li – Biodesigner and Educator – Royal College of Art.
Drawing from her background in biodesign and her current role as a Technical Instructor in Biomaterials at the Royal College of Art, Maria will share insights into the challenges and possibilities of working with living systems. The talk tells stories about Phytonet, an algae-based energy generation and water monitoring project on the London canals, and some biodesign projects as illustrations. It highlights how biodesign education and practice can illuminate the potential of cross-sector collaboration to develop regenerative, inclusive solutions for a climate-positive and socially engaged future.

19:15 Q&A with Maria Li

19:30 3rd. Speaker Marina Walker – Branding & Communications Strategist.
Marina’s talk focuses on air pollution in London and the connections between air quality activism and broader climate-related issues. Burning fossil fuels is the primary source of climate change and air pollution. Cleaning our air and cutting superpollutants could significantly slow the rate of global warming.

19:45 Q&A with Marina Walker

20:00 4th Speaker Simon Nash – CEO, Green Oil UK Ltd.
Simon will talk about Environmental Optimism. Let’s count our blessings and the amazing progress we have made towards a green world.
Good things are ahead: UK renewable energy went from 2% under Tony Blair to over 40% today. Electric cars are taking over, and not recycling is about as acceptable as smoking in a school classroom. The future is green.

20:15 Q&A with Simone Nash

20:30 5th Speaker – Kat Mahony (Greenpeace UK)
Kat, a Greenpeace volunteer and a children’s nurse working in a A&E in London will talk about Climate Justice, hope and action. Incorporating climate justice, hope, and turning despair into action is essential. Elites in London have benefited from the climate crisis, while marginalised people globally are disproportionately impacted. While thinking globally and acting locally, Kat will focus on how we can achieve change, the importance of people power and radical imagination for a better world.
