Spring drinks reception: In conversation with the Rt Hon Sir Liam Fox

Central London (location will be confirmed after registration is approved)

About this Event

We are delighted to be hosting this event for our networks to enjoy drinks and nibbles, meet like-minded people, and hear from our esteemed speaker the Rt Hon Sir Liam Fox, former Defense Secretary, Secretary of State for International Trade, and an MP for over thirty years.

The Rt Hon Sir Liam Fox has recently published his influential new book, The Coming Storm: Why water will write the 21st century. The book argues that competition for water is likely to shape this century’s political, economic, and security environment, ahead even of competition for energy sources such as oil and gas.

So how far are current water shortages contributing to global instability and migration, and how might the situation develop over the course of this century? Why isn’t this issue already at the forefront of politics given water is the most vital natural resource? And what can we do about it? How far should we be supporting countries overseas to ensure everyone in the world has access to clean water?

Join us from 6pm for drinks, ready for the discussion and to put your questions to Sir Liam at 6.45pm.
