Roundtable: Leveraging national pathways and policy to better assess transition plan feasibility and ambition
ICAEW, Chartered Accountants’ Hall, One Moorgate Place, London, EC2R 6EA
About this Event
This roundtable is co-hosted by the International Transition Plan Network (ITPN) and the World Benchmarking Alliance.
Effective transition planning must consider the broader policy and economic context, including frameworks like NDCs, national adaptation plans, and industrial strategies. However, greater clarity is needed on how to systematically incorporate national policy and pathways into transition plans—particularly for target-setting, alignment tracking, and action feasibility. This involves understanding corporate reliance on national policies and how assessments can better account for national policy and pathways.
To address this, the ITPN and the World Benchmarking Alliance are co-hosting a roundtable to:
Explore challenges in using national and regional policies to assess transition plans by engaging key assessment providers.
Gather expert feedback to inform ITPN’s upcoming paper on national pathways, including insights on sectors that could benefit most from national-level guidance.
The roundtable will be followed by a reception in the same venue. This will bring together the community of policymakers, regulators and civil society progressing thinking on transition plans.
The reception will feature a keynote speech by Hideki Takada, Director, GX (Green Transformation) Acceleration Agency, Japan. Please register for the reception separately here.
