Roundtable discussion on supporting subnationals toward NetZero

About this Event

As the global climate agenda gains urgency, the success of national netzero goals increasingly hinges on enabling and empowering subnational actors. To support them navigating the climate transition, Swaniti Global is convening a high-level, closed-door roundtable during London Climate Week 2025. The session will convene subnational leaders and representatives from across the global north and south to examine crucial enablers—including access to climate finance, knowledge and technology exchange, and intergovernmental coordination—essential for local climate transitions.

The agenda includes discussing on-ground experiences from subnational governments, identifying best practices and scalable mechanisms for capacity-building, and strengthening international support towards mobilizing resources at subnational levels. Through moderated roundtable exchanges and case study presentations from regional climate leaders, we intend to bring in policymakers, technical experts, multilaterals, philanthropies, and development practitioners for a stimulating and comprehensive discussion on the same.

Swaniti Initiative

Swaniti Global is an ecosystem builder working towards a sustainable and equitable future in a climate-constrained world. It has been working across the globe to support energy transition for almost fifteen years. We support local communities and subnational governments to identify where there are gaps and pathways to overcome them through research and data driven approaches. Swaniti most extensively works in India, Indonesia, and South Africa.
