Road to COP30 – Amazonian voices to postpone the end of the world
Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Grn Rd, London E1 6LA
About this Event
Kayeb and Comite COP30 are bringing to London seven local organisations from the Amazon region to discuss the real challenges ahead of COP30 in Belem this November. The Comite COP30 is a coalition of 99 organisations, mainly from the Amazon region, that aims to expand and strengthen advocacy, from the Amazon territory, in local, national and international climate conferences and forums, to guarantee a greater commitment from governments with actions connected to the demands, realities and dynamics of the territories.
In October 2024, the CCOP-30 published the document “Our Chance to Postpone the End of the World,” containing goals and guidelines to ensure that climate solutions established and implemented by Brazil are aligned with the local needs of Amazonian people. The document presents proposals for five thematic areas: climate adaptation, ecological restoration, food systems, means of implementation and climate governance, and territorial demarcation.
This event allows the international audience to engage with Amazonian perspectives ahead one of the most important events to discuss the climate emergency.
