Ripples to Waves: Amplifying Individual Actions into Global Impact

Virtual Mobilising Whole of Society Climate Action By registration Culture Nature Other

About this Event

It is estimated that household consumption decisions are responsible for around 70% of global GHG emissions. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change lists “citizens beginning to adopt low-carbon lifestyles as soon as possible” as part of the suite of solutions. At the same time, 86% of consumers want the world to become more sustainable.

Join the creators of the Ripples to Waves Project in a workshop to learn about a structured set of environmental impact-reduction principles that can be applied to any area of life, plus the latest results of their research that show individual actions that lead to the most impact from the perspectives of carbon emissions, pollution and waste reduction and biodiversity loss prevention. The session will culminate in an open discussion on how to best engage community members on these topics.

The objectives of the session are:

  • To inspire change at the individual level, based on data-driven suggestions on what could lead to the most impact from the perspectives of carbon emissions, pollution and waste reduction and biodiversity loss prevention
  • To introduce a cohesive set of principles that can support individuals in making sustainability decisions

Ripples to Waves Project is an effort to inspire individual action based on data-driven suggestions on what could lead to the most impact from the perspectives of carbon emissions, pollution and waste reduction and biodiversity loss prevention.
