ReLondon webinar – How can we tackle single-use plastic packaging and drive a reuse economy at a city level?
Online event
About this Event
Governments around the world are continuing to negotiate a Global Plastics Treaty with a goal of finalising the agreement later in 2025, but in the meantime, what can we do at a city level to tackle plastic waste and drive a circular economy that promotes prevention, reuse and, eventually, recycling?
Cities can – and do – move faster than national governments, and there is already pioneering action and innovation underway to tackle the plastics problem in London.
In this webinar for London Climate Action Week, we’ll spotlight existing and emerging solutions across the value chain and highlight opportunities for action across London’s boroughs, businesses and citizens – and discuss what’s needed to scale and replicate these actions and initiatives at a city-wide level.
Speakers include:
– Celine Deschamps, Program Lead, City to Sea
– Ali Malvern, Programme and Policy Lead, Climate Change & Sustainability, London Borough of Richmond and Wandsworth, OWL Plastics Lead
– Paul Cooke, Co-founder, Weekly.Shop
– Antony Buchan, Head of Local Authority Support, ReLondon (Chair)
