Regional Cooperation on Air Pollution in Africa

QEII Centre, Moore Room, SW1P 3EE, London, UK

About this Event

Super pollutants, and their impact on air quality, can poison our communities and accelerate the worst effects of climate change, putting both health and economies under stress. Air pollution and climate change are a particularly deadly duo for Africa, disproportionally harming women, children, the elderly, the poor, and children.

The event will highlight progress on the Africa Clean Air Programme (ACAP) and showcase regional leadership, the UK’s support, and global collaboration to reduce super pollutants. Speakers include representatives from ACAP Champion countries, the African Union, and leading philanthropic and research organizations.

Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), Clean Air Fund (CAF)

The UNEP-Convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of over 200 governments, intergovernmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations. It works to reduce powerful but short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) – methane, black carbon, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and tropospheric ozone – that drive both climate change and air pollution.

The Clean Air Fund is a global philanthropic organisation that works with governments, campaigners, researchers, funders and businesses to create a world where everyone breathes clean air.
