Reforming the COP Climate Action Agenda
Bain & Company, Villiers House, 40 Strand, London, WC2N 5RW
About this Event
Roundtable jointly hosted by the COP30 Presidency, WBCSD and Breakthrough Agenda, bringing together leading thinkers, policymakers, and change-makers for a pivotal discussion on reforming the COP Climate Action Agenda.
The Climate Action Agenda encompasses all efforts to address climate change mitigation and adaptation. It’s a broad term that includes individual actions, government policies, international agreements, and collective efforts outside of the formal UNFCCC negotiations. It is an increasingly important element of COP, which can provide a platform for actions that are complementary to the formal UNFCCC negotiations including showcasing commitments, sharing best practices and engaging in partnerships.
We need a refreshed approach that more effectively coordinates the existing landscape, pushing back on the unnecessary new whilst also supporting and scaling the most impactful efforts.
This roundtable will be the first in a series of conversations in support of the COP30 Presidency and UNFCCC in the process of scoping and implementing a reformed approach to the Climate Action Agenda for COP30 and beyond.
