Our mission is to prevent deforestation and protect rainforests and other threatened tropical ecosystems. Studies show that our approach of creating legally recognised protected areas is one of the most cost-effective ways to save endangered species, safeguard Indigenous Peoples rights and fight climate change.

Deforestation is responsible for up to 15% of greenhouse gas emissions. But since 1988, Rainforest Trust has safeguarded more than 50 million acres of rainforest from destruction.
