Not Too Late, Never Too Old: Age-Inclusive Climate Action
Online event
About this Event
The global population in ageing at the same time the climate is changing, increasing the frequency and severity of extreme weather events. These impacts often affect older people the most, yet climate policy and planning too often exclude their voices, experiences, and leadership.
The webinar explores these two pressing issues not as separate challenges but as opportunities for inclusive social and environmental transformation. It will highlight the often-overlooked contributions of older people to climate action and examine how local and national plans can better support older adults in adapting to a changing climate.
The session will encourage fresh thinking around intergenerational collaboration – bringing younger and older people together to learn from one another and take meaningful, collective action. We will also showcase real-world UK examples of promising practice, including healthy ageing initiatives, dementia-friendly approaches, and age-inclusive community climate solutions.
Together, we will ask: What needs to happen next to advance inclusive, age-responsive climate action through policy, funding, and intergenerational collaboration?
The webinar will consist of short presentations followed by a guided discussion.
