In-Person Climate Focused Mapathon

UCL, Gower Street, Chadwick Building Room G04, London WC1E 6BT

About this Event

What is it?

Mapathons are events where a bunch of people get together to map for impact. This means looking closely at satellite imagery on laptops to carefully draw objects that can be seen –> like buildings or roads. This new data can then be used by humanitarian organizations to support their operations. Given this event is part of London Climate Week our mapping will of course have a climate focus!

Where will we be mapping?

We will be working on high-priority projects releated to climate – TBC closer to date!

What do I need?

Bring a laptop, a mouse and enthusiasm (a mouse isn’t absolutely necessary but it makes mapping much faster).

Schedule:

18:00 Introduction to climate mapping and practical information

18:15 Hands on mapping training

19:15 Mapping and climate talks (+ snacks/refreshments)

20:00 Close and head to nearby park or pub
