How to Fly Better in the Climate Crisis
Babel Beerhouse 1 Lewis Cubitt Walk, London, N1C 4DL
About this Event
How to Fly Better in the Climate Crisis.
Flying is one of the most carbon-intensive activities we do. We talk about our carbon footprints, but these shrink into insignificance when we start looking at our ‘carbon bumprints’ – the climate impact of sitting on an airplane. It is time to take an honest look at our flying habits, and start focusing on how we can each make better choices when we need to fly.
Why?
We are all in this together, and we all need to fly better.
The airline industry is not taking its environmental responsibility seriously.
To empower you, the passenger, to take climate action.
To protect our freedom to fly, and the people and places we want to fly to.
Our Bumprints founder, Katie Thompson an ex-airline pilot and executive, is offering two free educational talks to help you understand how the aviation industry is tackling the climate crisis, and every action available to you, as a passenger, to minimize the climate impact of your flying.
Join us for one or both of these talks, as well as some fun in the middle, at the best brewery in town.
Beer and food available.
16:00 Talk: Aviation & the environment – an overview of the current situation with a Q & A
17:00 Activities & Beer (We will be in a brewery after all)
17:45 Talk: How to Fly Better in the Climate Crisis – Breaking down your journey into the many moments where your choices can reduce the environmental cost of your journey.
