Green Skills for London’s Future
The London Centre, 3 Aldermanbury, London EC2V 7HH
About this Event
Join us for this NLA half-day conference exploring how London can close the green skills gap to build a workforce fit for a net-zero future.
As London shifts towards a greener, more sustainable future, the need for a skilled and inclusive workforce is becoming increasingly urgent. London is expected to see a sharp rise in green jobs over the coming decades, but without a strong, diverse pipeline of skilled workers in the built environment, the city risks falling short of its climate targets.
Drawing on Skills for Places, NLA’s most recent research report, this conference will explore how London can meet the growing demand for green skills by rethinking how we attract, train, and support future city makers. From carbon literacy and digital design to retrofit and circular construction, the built environment sector is evolving rapidly—yet skills provision, awareness, and access haven’t caught up.
This half-day conference will spotlight the emerging landscape of green jobs, identify critical skills gaps, and consider the systemic changes needed to empower a diverse generation of city-makers to shape a more sustainable London.
