Globe Talks Special Gathering: Shakespeare’s Globe invites you to join the Incoming COP30 Presidency in the Global Mutirão
Sam Wanamaker Playhouse 21 New Globe Walk, Bankside London SE1 9DT
About this Event
The Brazilian culture inherited from its native Indigenous peoples the concept of mutirão. It refers to a community coming together to work on a shared task, whether harvesting, building, or supporting one another. Drawing on this invaluable ancestral wisdom and social technology, the Incoming COP30 Presidency shared the vision of a Global Mutirão.
This emerging framework is a decentralised, bottom-up, and self-organising mobilisation of climate solutions rooted in solidarity, cooperation, and shared purpose. It is also a platform for individuals, communities, and organisations to showcase their contributions, foster networks of cooperation, and inspire new initiatives that can further accelerate solution-oriented climate action.
Shakespeare’s Globe and the COP30 Incoming Presidency invite you to an effervescent and engaging afternoon, where we will learn more about the Global Mutirão. It will also serve as a platform for participants to share their perspectives and initiatives, contributing to the development of a shared vision for the Global Mutirão while fostering the co-creation of a truly inclusive climate movement.

COP30 Incoming Presidency:
The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. The meeting is held annually, with the presidency rotating among the five regions recognized by the United Nations.
In 2025, Brazil will have the honor of hosting the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30), which will take place in Belém, Pará. The chosen city will provide the world with a unique platform to discuss climate solutions, firmly rooted in the heart of the Amazon.
As the host country, Brazil is committed to strengthening multilateralism and fostering consensus on global targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to the warming of the planet.
