From Policy to Practice: Financing SMEs for Net Zero
House of Commons, Palace of Westminster, London SW1A0AA
About this Event
As we conclude the first phase of the B4NZ SME Sustainability Data Taskforce, this networking reception brings together key players in finance, industry, and policy to reflect on progress, plan ahead, and forge new collaborations.
This market-leading initiative, which feeds into the UK’s Net Zero Council, is paving the way for a proportionate, interoperable sustainability data framework that will unlock finance for SMEs while aligning with global standards. Following a high-level roundtable earlier in the day, this is a chance to connect with peers, share insights, and shape the next phase of this critical work.

B4NZ
B4NZ is an international not for profit initiative, bringing together banks, businesses, regulators and policymakers to accelerate the transition to a just, resilient net zero economy. Operating within the UK’s policy and regulatory landscape, we drive national implementation of global climate goals while enhancing the UK’s role as a leader in sustainable finance.on who engage with stakeholders from across the political and social spectrum in a credible and impactful way.
Our core focus is strategic policy alignment - identifying where policy can unlock the banking sector’s full potential in financing the real economy’s transition. By convening stakeholders across sectors, we catalyse practical, scalable solutions that advance both domestic and global climate action.
We work at the intersection of finance, policy, and innovation - deeply embedded in the UK market while connected to influential global networks, including UNEP FI, OECD, and the UN Race to Zero, where we serve as an official Accelerator.
As trusted advisors, we collaborate on high-impact initiatives like GFANZ, the Transition Plan Taskforce, and the Transition Finance Market Review. We partner with government departments, regularly brief ministers and civil servants, and are invited to speak at major forums such as COP, Davos, and UNGA.
