Bank of China Limited London Branch

Bank of China has maintained a strong presence in the City of London since 1929, marking a historic milestone as the first overseas branch of any Chinese bank at an international financial centre. Over the decades, the London Branch has grown steadily, becoming a respected member of the UK banking community. In 2007, the establishment of Bank of China (UK) Limited further strengthened the Group’s footprint in Britain and Europe. Together, the UK subsidiary and London Branch have played a vital role in deepening Sino-British trade and financial cooperation, advancing technological innovation, and supporting the local economy. In 2010, both entities moved into their new headquarters at 1 Lothbury, near the Bank of England, symbolizing their commitment to long-term development in the UK.
