From Glasgow to Belém: A public-private dialogue to foster bioeconomy

The COP30 Presidency has announced a “Global Mutirão” – a collective effort as the solution to the climate crisis. Building on this clear call to action to make “Climate Everyone’s Business” to meet Paris Agreement goals, ICC Brasil and ICC UK are hosting a high-level public-private dialogue during London Climate Action Week in June 2025.
If COP2026 in Glasgow raised global ambition and built consensus to limit global warming to 1.5ºC, COP30 in Belém shall be a key milestone to reaching it. Although there is certain turmoil at international geopolitics, strengthening multilateralism and cooperation on climate agenda is fundamental to address future challenges to companies, people and the planet.
In this context, bioeconomy emerges as a strategic pathway toward a sustainable, low-carbon, and inclusive development model. In Brazil, with its vast biodiversity and rich sociocultural assets—particularly in the Amazon region—the bioeconomy represents a unique opportunity to generate value, income, and environmental conservation.
The United Kingdom, recognized for its commitment to carbon neutrality and green innovation ecosystems, stands out as a key partner to foster investments, technical expertise, and sustainable value chains.
