About this Event

Practice some well-needed joy in your activism!

Join Fossil Free Singers as part of London Climate Action week, for a workshop of songs that Fossil Free London have sung on climate demonstrations, marches, rallies, and other protests.

Singing expertise is not required, just a willingness to raise your voice in song. We’ll teach by ear (we don’t use scores). Many of the songs are based on well-known tunes, and we’ll provide you with a booklet of the lyrics.

Singing at climate action events draws the attention of passers-by, and then they can hear about the issue and find out more. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, singing builds solidarity and a sense of collective action and community between activists, and can help sustain and mobilise people when things get tough.

About Fossil Free London: Fossil Free London exists to make our city inhospitable to the fossil fuel industry and the banks that fund it. We use direct action, creative stunts, disruption and protest to tarnish the image of the industry and attack its social license. Read more on us here.
