Financing the Future of Cattle in Pará

Finance plays a critical role in accelerating the transition to deforestation-and conversion-free agricultural expansion – including financial solutions for farmers to expand over already-cleared lands, increase yields and implement agroforestry systems, as well as financial partnerships with leading supply chain companies to implement their DCF commitments and support their suppliers in this transition. But despite progress in other key commodities, similar models for cattle finance have been slow to develop. This event will bring together key stakeholders to work on “cracking the nut” to accelerate finance in this area, sharing experiences, challenges and opportunities to launch and scale solutions as part of the broader effort to transform cattle production in Brazil.

This invite-only roundtable will begin with a framing of the status of the market followed by five to seven participants sharing their perspectives on what they are doing, key challenges and thoughts on how to breakthrough to unlock more finance in this area, followed by broader comments and discussion among the group.
