Extreme Heat in West London: local authority workshop

12 Arthur St, London EC4R 9AB

About this Event

This is a workshop for representatives from West London borough councils – including but not limited to climate and sustainability teams, public health teams, emergency planning and response teams, communications and engagement teams and technical, GIS or other relevant teams. The event will begin with setting the context from heat risk mapping for West London and existing provision of cool spaces across the subregion. The focus of the session will be on where and how councils can support additional provision of cool spaces in particular for vulnerable communities, and we will also begin to touch on the important role that communication, engagement and working with voluntary and community organisations locally plays. We aim to identify where collaboration across our region can play a role. By the end of the session we hope to have a good understanding of some next steps that West London boroughs can take together to build resilience to heat risk in our communities, and the role that wider stakeholders can play in this.
