Energy transition risks and corporate climate alignment

Workspace® | Salisbury House 29 Finsbury Circus London EC2M 5SQ

About this Event

As the global carbon budget shrinks and the energy transition accelerates, oil and gas companies are still sanctioning high-cost, long-duration projects – often while rolling back elements of their transition plans. At the same time, investment in new oil and gas is falling as a share of free cash flow, revealing a sector in strategic tension. Is oil on the way out, or are companies doubling down? How should investors navigate these conflicting signals? This session will unpack the climate alignment and transition risks of major oil and gas producers, drawing on insights from our Paris Maligned report and company profile research.

Tracker Group

To mark London Climate Action Week 2025, Tracker Group will host a week-long series of investor breakfast roundtables at our Finsbury Circus offices. Each morning, we will spotlight a different theme from across our climate and nature research areas. Led by team heads and their analysts, these sessions are designed to foster engagement with a select group of investors on material topics.

Taking place from 8:30 to 9:30am each day, these roundtables offer a focused and insightful way to begin the day amidst the packed LCAW calendar.
