Cross-border Institutional Allocator Roundtable: Unlocking EM green finance/impact.

In-person Financing Global Climate Transitions Mobilising Whole of Society Climate Action Invite only Finance

About this Event

This is an event in conjunction with the US Government’s Prosper Africa Initiative which will bring a delegation of asset owners from the United States to London Climate Action Week. The discussion will showcase innovative emerging markets (EM), and climate finance opportunities and share experiences between US and UK Pension Funds, endowments and other asset owners. The roundtable will be of interest to any pension fund or pool aiming to make competitive risk-adjusted financial returns while enabling real-world climate impact towards a just and inclusive transition.

Our experience of UK asset owners (AOs) to date has been those investors with a dual objective of impact alongside risk-adjusted financial returns have focused on developed markets. This event will therefore extend the focus to EM with concrete examples of institutional capital deployed and provide an opportunity to:

Hear directly from the US Pension Funds and other US asset allocators about their experiences investing in Africa.

Hear from MOBILIST, part of the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office, about the private capital climate finance funding gap & solutions.

Hear from the US and UK Government’s offices and agencies about the private capital climate finance funding gap & solutions.

Hear from Pensions for Purpose and discuss the internal capacity building and external evidence building needed for the UK AOs to better assess the EM asset classes.
