Crisis as Catalyst: Rewiring food and climate action

Uncommon Liverpool Street (34-37 Liverpool Street, London, EC2M 7PP)

About this Event

This solutions-focused roundtable will convene 20–30 thought leaders, decision-makers, and
disruptors to address a critical question:
How can we reform the global architecture to accelerate climate action in food systems – and
recruit the next generation of ‘agents of change’ to lead the charge?

Through provocative inputs and interactive discussions, participants will unpack the most urgent structural bottlenecks, share bold ideas for system redesign, and identify concrete opportunities to push for reform ahead of COP30. The session will be followed by an informal networking reception to deepen relationships and inspire cross-sector collaboration.

Clim-Eat, in collaboration with FCDO, IIED, and University of Leeds

Founded in 2022, Clim-Eat is the ‘Think and Do Tank’ working to bridge science, policy, and action, to support a move towards evidence-based, innovative, and collaborative action for resilient and low-emission food systems in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
Clim-Eat was established in response to the challenges the world is facing at the intersection of climate change and food systems; the latter being responsible for around a third of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, while the impacts of climate change are putting the livelihoods of over half a billion farmers to risk.
Clim-Eat has identified its niche in strategic deal brokering for action, which combines evidence synthesis, engagement with decision-makers and capacity development. This approach centralises solutions for key issues, or lock-ins, which have the potential to pivot food systems towards sustainability and enhance the resilience of producers and farmers. Clim-Eat seeks to apply this approach to catalyse systemic change that benefits both the farmer and the planet.
