About this Event

Join the Net Zero Lawyers Alliance (NZLA) and Business and Human Rights Lawyers Association (BHRLA) for a practical discussion on the evolving legal landscape where climate-related claims intersect with human rights and corporate responsibilities. This session will explore how courts are applying business and human rights principles—including the UN Guiding Principles and OECD Guidelines—to interpret the right to a healthy environment and the protection against climate change. Panellists will provide insights into recent and pending cases, as well as the broader implications for corporate due diligence, compliance and remedial action.

Net Zero Lawyers Alliance (NZLA) and the Business and Human Rights Lawyers Association (BRHLA)

The Net Zero Lawyers Alliance (NZLA) was established ahead of COP26 to mobilise commercial law firms, lawyers and the law to accelerate the transition to net zero. Since then, the NZLA has been pivotal in positioning commercial law firms to help their clients reduce their emissions and build climate resilience, in turn supporting the global transition. The Business and Human Rights Lawyers Association (BHRLA) unites global law firms and lawyers to integrate human rights and UN Guiding Principles into their practices, inspiring leadership, learning, collaboration, and best practices worldwide.
