Climate Action Roundtable with Carbon Direct
Central LondonAbout this Event
During this session, Carbon Direct will share insights from their deep engagement in the carbon dioxide removal (CDR) market and explore how these learnings are shaping the future of environmental attribute certificates (EACs). We are very fortunate to be joined by Microsoft to share their perspective on EACs as well. We’ll discuss how to build credible, scalable markets for climate impact, with a focus on clean products that face technical challenges, unclear market signals, green premiums, and difficulties in tracking attributes.
Carbon Direct’s Chief Scientist, Dr Julio Friedmann, will share reflections from our diligence efforts on more than 800 carbon removal projects to-date, and the challenges and trends we are seeing in the Voluntary Carbon Market. Microsoft’s Environmental Sustainability – Fuel and Materials Decarbonization Lead, Julia Fidler, will open the conversation on the new market of commodity Environmental Attribute Certificates and how Microsoft is looking to define quality in this market.
