Child lens investing: what is it and how to get started?
Dentons UK and Middle East LLP, 1 Fleet Pl, London EC4M 7WSAbout this Event
Join the Impact Investing Institute and Save the Children to learn about Child Lens Investing and hear from expert practitioners in the field.
Across the globe, around 1 billion children live in poverty, 244 million are out of school, and nearly 70% of 10-year-olds cannot read simple text. In the UK alone, 29% of children live in poverty, with 123,000 classified as homeless.
Despite these alarming statistics, impact investing has largely overlooked children, even though the market is valued at $1,571 trillion. Children play a key role in shaping consumer demand, but investments rarely focus on achieving measurable outcomes for them.
Child-lens investing shifts the focus, making children the primary beneficiaries. Building on the work of UNICEF’s Child Lens Investing Framework, and working with our partners Save the Children, the Impact Investing Institute has this year launched a market building project aimed at raising the profile of child-lens investing. As part of the programme, we will be holding a series of convenings, dedicated to exploring this impactftul investment strategy and inviting experts in to share their learnings.
Join us to understand what child lens investing is, how you and your organisation can become involved and what the future growth of this sector could look like.
