Kingston Council is one of London Boroughs Councils and as all the Local Authorities has some statutory and non statutory duties.
Kingston Council places a strong emphasis on the green economy. This focus is central to both its Economic Strategy and Climate Action Strategy and is built around three key objectives:
- People – Developing green skills and jobs essential for the transition to a green economy.
- Product – Enabling and supporting green innovation and business growth.
- Operations – Supporting the decarbonisation of local businesses.
In collaboration with the local Chamber of Commerce and other local partners and businesses, the Council has established the Kingston Green Business Community (KGBC).
KGBC serves as a forum for businesses and organisations committed to reducing their environmental impact, promoting sustainability, driving eco-innovation and thriving in a greener economy.
Membership is free and the community is open to all businesses and organisations based in, or operating within, Kingston. KGBC is also connected with other business communities that share similar goals.
