About this Event

As part of London Climate Action Week, join this 2 hour workshop to explore climate emotion through the medium of LEGO!

Climate Play founder Lucy Hawthorne is partnering with Climate Change Coach Molly Stevenson to introduce participants to two powerful tools for climate reflection and action: LEGO® Serious Play® and Joanna Macy’s Active Hope Spiral.

The Active Hope Spiral, created by esteemed ecophilosopher, Joanna Macy, is a four stage process that can help us find, and offer, our best response when facing concerns about our world situation. But in this workshop we’ll be trying to explore this process a little differently – with LEGO. LEGO Serious Play is a facilitation technique that uses bricks as metaphors and that provides a very different way of reflecting and communicating by building, rather than simply telling stories.

Together we will:

  • Explore Joanna Macy’s Active Hope Spiral
  • Experiment with a different form of reflection though the medium of LEGO

So that you’ll leave with:

  • An understanding of your own climate emotional landscape.
  • Support and tools to use in navigating different elements of climate emotion
  • New ideas and energy.

What to bring?

Bring a few handfuls of LEGO, the more varied in shape, size and colour the better. You don’t need loads! If you don’t have any LEGO at home, or can’t borrow any, then bring a couple of handfuls of random objects that can fit on your table/desk.

Join us to explore ways to reflect on big issues lightly.
