2025 World Hydropower Outlook: Global Launch

EBRD, 5 Bank Street, London E14 4BG

About this Event

The World Hydropower Outlook, a flagship annual publication by IHA, tracks and projects the progress of hydropower development globally against net zero pathways. Drawing upon exclusive new development insights from IHA’s global database, it features in-depth analysis of hydropower’s growth trajectory, highlighting policy and finance challenges as well as examples of good progress.

The 2025 edition will focus on the role of pumped storage, including an exclusive view of the pipeline of projects for this vital technology. The Outlook will also address the changing role of hydropower as climate change impacts water resources. As its name suggests, the Outlook will provide IHA’s view of how hydropower capacity will develop over the next 10-15 years.

The 2025 World Hydropower Outlook, due to launch during London Climate Action Week, will be disseminated worldwide through a roadshow of regional events. This high-level launch event in London will mark the beginning of this journey, bringing together stakeholders from the diplomatic community, government, energy companies including consultants, the financial community and think tanks.
