MIDSUMMER PARTIES

Burgess Park Midsummer Climate Festival is one of London’s unique green spaces, in Southwark, South London. Formerly a bomb-damaged site of devastated homes, factories, lime kilns, canals and lumber yards, the 56 hectare park is now home to numerous community sports clubs, gardens, open air gyms, cafes, arts and culture organisations. The Festival will consist of a series of free community-led events and raise awareness about the impact of climate change on the park, showcase community responses and motivate climate action. More

SHOW YOUR STRIPES DAY

Underpinning London Climate Action Day is the science of climate change – and London is warming fast. Show Your Stripes Day on 21 June each year, is a global moment to share the famous “warming stripes”, a powerful visual representation of how temperatures have increased around the world since the industrial revolution. Created by climate scientist Professor Ed Hawkins at the University of Reading, each stripe represents one year. The colours transition from cool blues to warm reds to represent the increases in temperature seen throughout the past 150 years or more. More

PICNICS WITH PURPOSE

Parents for Future (PFF) is a growing group of parents navigating the climate crisis, and trying to secure a safer, fairer world for children everywhere. They are hosting Parents for Future London get together: picnic with a purpose as an informal social event, to get together, let the kids play and enjoy some sunshine and fresh air. More

CHEF’S MANIFESTO

Engage with Chefs’ Manifesto food champions through live demos and hands-on tastings at Taste of London. The Chefs’ Manifesto is a chef-led project that brings together 1700+ chefs from around the world to explore how they can help deliver a sustainable food system. Taste of London returns to The Regent’s Park from 18-22 June. Once again, this year guests can enjoy Taste Sessions in partnership with The Royal Parks, with intimate talks, tastings and demonstrations focused on sustainability, wellbeing, diversity and nature.
